There is a saying that goes “We don’t meet people by accident. They are meant to cross our path for a reason.” Sometimes, these meetings ignite a spark that spurs innovation, and others provide inspiration or meaningful connections over the longer term. It’s these meetings that allow us to cultivate relationships that grow great ideas and enable us to achieve things we did not believe possible.

And it’s these kinds of encounters and relationships I am celebrating with #innovateup. In fact, due to such relationships, the past eight plus years of my service as an entrepreneurial leader at the University of Michigan have been some of the most fulfilling parts of my life, both on a professional level and also because the time has been personally rewarding. I have made new friends and learned new things far beyond my expectations! They allowed me to #innovateup and also help others, paying it forward.

Our innovation and entrepreneurship community is strong and continues to grow. As such, I’d like to take this time to acknowledge the innovators, the game changers, and the problem solvers that have helped build an exceptional community and also have helped me in this task – helped me to #innovateup.

Follow me on Twitter @thomaszurbuchen as I thank our most important innovative mentors, each with a unique contribution. Who knows? You might be on the list! If you are, I hope you will pay forward or “innovate up” and retweet about an innovator who has inspired you. #innovateup.

    Thomas –

I certainly hope I made your list … you certainly make mine! This is a great (and simple) idea. It could catch fire.
